چکیده
A. Purpose and aims The TRUST project brings together scientists from the Swedish Universities of the Built Environment (SBU, i.e. Chalmers University of Technology, Royal Institute of Technology, Luleå University of Technology and Lund University Faculty of Engineering), Uppsala University (UU), the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU) and a number of private companies with the aim to improve tools for planning, design and construction of underground facilities. The structure of the TRUST project is outlined in figure 1.

Sustainable development in Urban Underground Space
During a very long period of time, civil engineers have been the only ones to be designated as the experts for underground space, while the planners and architects were the ones of the development at the surface. Cities worldwide tend to overlook an invaluable asset that lies beneath their surfaces. Most cities and urban regions are unaware of the benefits underground space use has to offer, bo...
متن کاملInteractive Urban Models Generated from Context- Preserving Transcoding of Real-Wold Data
We present a context preserving transcoding pipeline for generation of interactive three-dimensional models. These urban 3D models are based on real-world data from 2D geospatial databases and include semantic markup. We use these models for interactive on-site visualization of underground infrastructure owned and operated by utility companies.
متن کاملUrban underground development an overview of historical underground cities in Iran
The increasing rate of urbanization and rate of population growth over the 20th century has led to various problems such as traffic congestion, air pollution, and lack of open and green spaces that have affected the cities and their citizen's life. This condition has led to increasing demands for more land use, homes, and work places, more public transport and mass transit systems and modern in...
متن کاملFeasibility study of underground salt caverns in Western Newfoundland: experimental and finite element investigation of creep-induced damage
Underground caverns in rock salt deposits are the most secure disposal method and a type of gas-storing facility. Gas storage plays a vital role in ensuring that a strategic relationship is secured between an established energy infrastructure provider and a midstream energy company. The Fischells Brook area is a pillow-shaped body of salts located in the St. George's Bay area of southwest Newfo...
متن کاملRethink of failure of underground construction- lessons learned from Taiwan
Underground construction is widely adopted in urban area but sometimes the construction might cause severely failure. In this paper, successful interpretation of instrument data is addressed and several examples are demonstrated since geotechnical monitoring is thought to be an effective tool to avoid failure. Further, the failure may also be caused by misinterpretation of responsibilities of p...
